“Hubermania” is an homage to an American Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman.

Yes , we all know him as a charismatic neuroscientist , who insists on us getting sunlight immediately upon waking up ,a professor, a podcaster, adored by millions.

He is kind of a rock star in his field. Noncontroversial , apolitical , he checks all the boxes so to speak , but those who are familiar with my work , know , that I tend to depict people ,who despite being important figures in our society, also happen to be polarizing, problematic and often misunderstood .

So how does Andrew Huberman fit into the “Rebels” series?

I wanted to break through his nearly flawless image and tap into what is really going on ,not just in his brain , but his heart.

Do we love him because he enlightens us about health ? We do. But who is he ? What drives him , what has he gone through , what are his passions and what are his vices?

I am grateful that he gave me the opportunity to get a unique insight into his life, sharing its both beautiful and unflattering intimate aspects.

This did feel like a collaborative process , so much so that we quite literally drew him into the work, where he added a beautiful neuroretina segment to the piece.

I hope this artwork inspires people to look deeper into themselves and serve as a reminder that ,while navigating this complicated journey of life, facing adversity, dealing with losses and heartbreaks , searching for home, love and meaning , going through endless challenges and self doubt, there is an abundance of beauty, magic and potential around us and within us.

Despite his countless flaws, in my eyes he will always be what you see in this piece: Powerful, magnetic , kind , full of love and passion, wild, flawed, curious and complex.
